Loving Blondie

I am all about Debbie Harry's iconic style this fall, well, I should clarify that I have always been all about Debbie Harry, her style will always bring back memories for me, memories of late night punk shows and blown out ear drums, in smoky greasy bars, HELL I still live that way it isn't a memory yet, and evan as I get older my wardrobe will always contain a few british style dome studs, maybe not as many as when I was 16 but still none-the-less. I could design an entire collection around Debbie Harry, leather legging's, leather mini shorts, leather mini skirts, mens style soft worn in jersey tees with block printing or large smiley faces. Oh the list could go on, boiled wool architectural pea coats and all with dome studs galore, and all mixed in with pretty little flirty dresses.
Cheers love K

I Heart E-Bay

Tin Roof Vintage E-Bay listing

Laced with Romance Vintage E-Bay listing

Today was supposed to be the first day of fall, dont mind that the Santa Ana winds are kickin up some serious heat, that didn't stop me from drooling over my favorite E-Bay sellers choice vintage fur's. Oh how pleasant it would be if only it would get cold enough, oh it would be a joyous occasion. I am reminded of the white rabbit bolero I used to wear in the winter as a kid, it was an amazing hand me down from my older cousin, and what a great way for a 10 year old to make a fashion statement.  Dont get me wrong here, I am all for PETA, but I am evan more for vintage, re-use, reduce, recycle.
Cheers, love K

Rose Bowl Splendor

I usually spend the second sunday of every month at the happiest place on earth, the Rose Bowl flea market, and although my day is usually spent drinking beer while perusing the overpriced used goods, taking pictures of the vintage masterpieces I  convince myself are not worth the price, and hunting and stalking all the great La La Land hipsters so as to ask in a convincingly nonchalant way "um hi, may I snap your photo for, well, urrrr, my blog". Yes while doing all this I managed to snag a few great vintage accessories. Yeahhh lucky me.

And then I found this, I may be the only one in the world who thinks this is the most amazing piece of art. Alaskan eskimo fur coat with original hand carved seal buttons, carved from whale bone, hand embroidered with seed beads, oh how I wish I had a frozen place to wear this to, maybe if I just buy it and stand in front of my freezer door, alas I can not justify the $500 to watch this go unworn for years. Boo who.
Cheers all.

Tailor Made

My first tailor job worth over a $1000, I was asked to do some tailoring on this beautiful alpaca coat with an unfortunate mega buckling of the collar. "Sure" I said "no problem, easy breezy ill bring it back in 3 day's". I sat and stared at the coat for over an hour before getting the gumption to rip open the collar seams, then once that was done I sat for another hour planing my attack, and then finally I smoothed on some fusing with the iron, hand stitched it all down to the inside seams and closed it all back up. With a sigh of relief I stood back and took in my job well done. Bravo to me. Viola Debbie H, I hope you love it.
